This fantastic Povitica/ Potica recipe has been in the Pallo family for over 60 years. It is a recipe formed from a culinary combination of emigrants from Poland and Austria! In the early 1900’s, a group of Eastern European emigrants, including relatives of the Pallo family, came to Kansas City looking for work in the oil and railroad industries. They settled in Sugar Creek, Missouri. The scenic little town of Sugar Creek is so named because of all the Maple trees that lined the small creek which runs through the town. This community is still enriched by the customs, beliefs, and the proud heritage of its people. Every year they host one of the Midwest’s largest ethnic festivals, called the Sugar Creek
Slavic Festival. Along with them came their traditional dessert known as Povitica (swirled bread). Each loaf of Pallo Povitica/Potica is still hand rolled just like the Pallo ancestors rolled the bread over 100 years ago. Each delicious Povitica/Potica loaf is made to order. Only the finest ingredients are used and with no additional preservatives, customers can be assured that their order of Povitica is of the utmost quality. All Povitica/Potica is made in a Missouri Health Inspected Kitchen We are still offering free home delivery in the Kansas City area on orders over $25.00! A small fee may apply on orders smaller than $25.00. We are still offering shipping for our out of town customers. Shipping and Handling cost will not exceed $10.95 per size of loaf, unless over night delivery is required. Shipping is based on Zip code.
